Travel.

We don’t simply draw the line at New Zealand. We want to catch all of the fish, in all of the places.

Why book with us?

The world is a big place with a lot of water and we’ve dedicated our lives to searching out the very best of it - the best locations, species and operations on the planet. We’ve done the leg work so you can spend more time fishing quality destinations with quality people.

Jeff Forsee and Jack Scott are the founders, head guides, travel hosts and chief pencil pushers at Aotearoa Anglers and you’ll be dealing with them directly when you book your trip. We are experienced international guides and are happy to share our knowledge of fishing and travel as well as an abundance of smiles with all of our guests.

We are a small scale, bespoke tour operator and travel agency and because of that, every client is valued and appreciated. Every booking we receive helps us to continue to pursue a life of passion and fishing. Relationships and people are as much of a part of what we do as the fishing is. It really is our greatest joy to share all of this with people who are as grateful for it as we are.

We’d love to spend some time on the water with you so send us an email or give us a call and maybe we can do just that.

“There are great guides, and then there are great guides you’d like to spend a week with. Jeff Forsee is one of the later. He’ll get you into fish of course, but he’s also a coach, mentor, confidant, advisor, team mate and the most gracious host you could hope for on any continent.”

-Ross Purnell, Editor Flyfisherman Magazine.

Oh the places we will go…

Mongolia.

A trip to Mongolia is as much about the place, the people that live there and the adventure of going to such a far out corner of the world as it is the fishing which is great news because the fishing is fantastic! The main attraction is the largest salmonid in the world, the great hucho taimen - a fish that grows to over 1.5 meters (60in.) in length, a fish of 1,000 casts. On this 7 day, 8 night, wilderness float trip you will also have the opportunity for some of the best dry fly fishing we’ve experienced, targeting the endemic lenok trout and grayling. Accomodation is rustic but comfortable, the food is tasty, the scenery world class and smiles abound on this all time river journey. Contact us today for more information on the adventure of a lifetime.

Brazil.

Brazil is the 5th largest country in the world and has no shortage of rivers, coastline or fish and when we think of Brazil we think of the Amazon rainforest and peacock bass…. both XXL, just like the country itself. If you want adventure, top of the class accommodation and food AND shots at the biggest peacocks on planet earth then look no further. This is another one of those programs that we just can’t believe exists but thankfully for us it does. We’ve sent multiple groups to Brazil and hosted a successful trip here in 2021 and can’t wait to go back again. Look inside for more details.
